體育資訊10月31日報道宣 中國籃協今日官宣，姚明卸任中國籃協主席，郭振明將接替這一職位。
姚明在接受新華社的采訪中，表達了對任期內國家隊成績和表現沒有達到預期的遺憾。
姚明在接受新華社記者專訪時說，擔任中國籃協主席的經歷很寶貴，有不少收獲，遺憾的則是國家隊的成績和表現沒有達到預期。之所以選擇在這個時候離開中國籃協，主要還是基于對中國籃球未來的考慮。按照章程，姚明的第二屆任期還剩兩年左右，他希望為新班子留下一個完整的奧運周期，以便他們更好地開展工作。
姚明說，他對籃球的熱愛從未改變。中國籃球的發展涉及方方面面，比如國際交流、公益、青少年培訓、產業研究、文化等等，未來自己以其他方式參與籃球的機會還有很多。
離任之際，姚明感謝了國家體育總局領導、中國籃協同事、籃球界同仁以及關心中國籃球的所有人對他在任期間各項工作的支持。
