聯盟里的球隊普遍沒有薪金空間，這是吉迪、格萊姆斯、庫明加、卡梅隆-托馬斯在尋求新合同一事上停滯不前的原因，30支球隊里，只有籃網有超過1410萬薪金空間，但今夏他們沒有花錢的打算。這讓四名球員都只有一個選擇：在新合同上讓步或者繼續等待。
庫明加的情況受到勇士薪資狀態的限制，勇士現在只有10名球員（9個正式合同，一個雙向），總薪資已經1.7億，距離第一土豪線只有2500萬。
格萊姆斯的情況也類似，76人目前薪資1.84億，距離第二土豪線2193萬，他們手上有570萬的交稅版中產可用，但如果用了，將會被第二硬帽，這會對他們續約格萊姆斯有影響。
