體育資訊6月29日報(bào)道宣 在今年的選秀大會上，鵜鶘總裁喬-杜馬斯將第23順位選秀權(quán)和一個無保護(hù)的2026年首輪選秀權(quán)送到老鷹，換來13號簽并選中德里克-奎因。這個選擇受到了一些質(zhì)疑。對此奎因在新聞發(fā)布會上給出了回應(yīng)。
“這絕對激勵了我。我認(rèn)為本屆選秀中的任何人都不會比我更優(yōu)秀……我要屏蔽那些噪音。高中的時(shí)候，我擊敗過他們中的大多數(shù)人……明年我會繼續(xù)擊敗他們，（選我）顯示了喬-杜馬斯獨(dú)一無二的才能。”奎因說道。
