據統計，這是名帥卡利帕里治下阿肯色大學贏下的第一場NCAA錦標賽勝利。而阿肯色大學也是3年內第2次淘汰了堪薩斯大學。
卡利帕里去年和阿肯色大學男籃達成一份5年合同，他曾帶領肯塔基大學男籃7次打進瘋三精英八強，四次晉級終極四強并在2012年獲得總冠軍。
