范弗里特1994年2月25日出生于美國伊利諾伊州羅克福德，在2016年NBA選秀大會上范弗里特不幸落選。同年7月，范弗里特加盟猛龍隊，職業生涯至今先后效力于猛龍和火箭。在2018-19賽季，他幫助猛龍奪得了NBA總冠軍。
