卡斯爾拿下了新秀挑戰賽的MVP，而且他還有可能贏得明天的扣籃大賽以及后天的全明星正賽。對此，卡斯爾表示：“我當然考慮過這個可能性。不過我想一步一步來，所以也許你可以在我贏得扣籃大賽之后再來問我。”
決賽中，卡斯爾出場8分鐘，得到12分3籃板2助攻。
