全明星首發球員由球迷、球員和媒體投票共同決定，分別占比50%、25%、25%；球迷投票有三個階段，最終票選排名前二的后場球員和排名前三的前場球員成為全明星首發球員，替補球員則由各隊主教練選出。
球員、球迷、媒體三項排名進行加權排名，球迷占50%，球員和媒體占25%；最終加權得分越低，最終排名越高。
例如詹姆斯，球迷排名第2，球員第2，媒體第4，最終加權得分2×50%+（2+4）×25%=2.5。
