今年40歲的詹姆斯入選了西部全明星首發(fā)。這是詹姆斯生涯第21次入選全明星（全部都是首發(fā)，同時(shí)刷新了NBA歷史全明星次數(shù)紀(jì)錄）。詹姆斯也成為了NBA歷史上第一個(gè)40歲入選全明星的球員。
詹姆斯本賽季至今為湖人出戰(zhàn)了38場(chǎng)比賽，場(chǎng)均23.7分7.5籃板9.0助攻，投籃命中率51.3%，三分命中率39.8%，罰球命中率76.3%。
全明星首發(fā)球員由球迷、球員和媒體投票共同決定，分別占比50%、25%、25%；球迷投票有三個(gè)階段，最終票選排名前二的后場(chǎng)球員和排名前三的前場(chǎng)球員成為全明星首發(fā)球員，替補(bǔ)球員則由各隊(duì)主教練選出。
